North Hudson Sewerage Authority Weehawken Infrastructure Project Two Week Look Ahead For 12/4 - 12/15/2023

There will be one crew working on Hamilton Ave and a milling and paving crew working on Blvd East, Highwood Ave, and Hudson Place. The maps on pages 2-4 indicates the work areas and parking limitations.

Week 1: 12/4-12/8/2023

Hamilton Ave

Hamilton Ave will be closed to through traffic. There will be no parking on Hamilton Ave in the vicinity of the work zone between Blvd East and King Ave. As construction progresses, the work zone will move down Hamilton Ave.

House Keeping

·       No vehicles, equipment, or materials will be stored on the sidewalk.

·       Traffic signs to be posted as necessary.

Blvd East Work – 700 Blvd East to Hamilton Ave, Highwood Ave and Hudson Pl

Milling and paving is planned to begin on Wednesday, December 6th. Milling will begin at 700 Blvd East and progress north/east towards Hamilton Ave milling the travel lane. The milling will then come back towards 700 Blvd east in the west/south bound. Highwood Ave and Hudson Place will follow Blvd East. In total the milling and paving may take up to 4 days.

Week 2: 12/11-12/15/2023

Week two will be dependent on the progress in week 1. This plan will be updated after week 1.

Hamilton Ave – continuing work on Hamilton Ave. No traffic, no parking on Hamilton Ave.

Depending on milling and paving progress, one or two additional days may be required the week of 12/11.

Upcoming schedule:

Work on Hamilton Ave is expected to continue for 6 to 8 weeks as rock has been encountered and reduces the amount of pipe that can be installed on a daily basis.

Following the completion of work on Hamilton Ave, construction will begin at the pump station at the intersection on Highwood Ave and Hudson Pl. Pump station construction is expected to start in January 2024.

Completed work:

Work has been completed on Blvd East from 700 Blvd East to Hamilton Ave. A new 48” PVC combined sewer was installed along with manholes and new laterals and cleanouts. The majority of work on Highwood Ave is complete, with new stormwater piping separating sewer and stormwater from Blvd East to Hudson Place. A stormwater force main was installed on Highwood Ave, that will be connected to the pump station in 2024. Hudson Place also had new stormwater and sewer piping along with new catch basins and manholes.
