North Hudson Sewerage Authority Weehawken Infrastructure Project Two-Week Look Ahead for May 20 - May 31, 2024
There will be two crews working, one on Hamilton Ave and one at the pump station location on Highwood Ave.
Week 1: 5/20-5/24/2024
Hamilton Ave Crew
Hamilton Ave will be closed to through traffic. There will be no parking on Hamilton Ave in the vicinity of the work zone between Blvd East and King Ave. As construction progresses, the work zone will move down Hamilton Ave.
On Monday 5/20 there will be a crew performing a point repair on Blvd East between Hamilton Ave and Duer Pl. This repair is expected to be completed in 1 day. (See map below)
House Keeping
No vehicles, equipment, or materials will be stored on the sidewalk or in front of driveways.
Traffic signs to be posted as necessary.
Pump Station Crew
Pump station work includes light excavation and layout of electrical systems within the parking lot area.
No parking in the close vicinity to the parking lot.

A temporary construction fence has been installed on the sidewalk in front of the parking lot and at the top of the stairs next to the lot.
Traffic signs to be posted as necessary.
CIPP Lining Crew
A crew will be performing sewer cured-in-place-pipe (CIPP) lining. This work will be performed on four pipe segments in the vicinity of Blvd East. See the map below for the street sections and dates for each segment. The Town of Weehawken is providing a letter detailing the CIPP work and resident requirements for when the lining work is being performed on the main sewer line in front of each property the week of 5/20 – work to begin on Tuesday 5/21/2024.
Week 2: 5/27-5/31/2024
No work on Monday 5/27/2024 – Memorial Day Observed
Week two will be dependent on the progress in week 1. This plan will be updated after week 1.
Hamilton Ave – continuing work on Hamilton Ave. No traffic, no parking on Hamilton Ave.
Pump Station Crew site work to prepare for gas and electrical connections.
Upcoming schedule:
Work on Hamilton Ave is expected to continue for 8-10 weeks as rock has been encountered and reduces the amount of pipe that can be installed on a daily basis.
Pump station construction is will last for 6-8 weeks followed by testing, and start up.
Completed work:
Work has been completed on Blvd East from 700 Blvd East to Hamilton Ave. A new 48” PVC combined sewer was installed along with manholes and new laterals and cleanouts. The majority of work on Highwood Ave is complete, with new stormwater piping separating sewer and stormwater from Blvd East to Hudson Place. A stormwater force main was installed on Highwood Ave, that will be connected to the pump station in 2024. Hudson Place also had new stormwater and sewer piping along with new catch basins and manholes. The pump station structure has been installed at the pump station location and the force main connection has been made.
