Project Overview
The North Hudson Sewerage Authority (NHSA) is undertaking an infrastructure rehabilitation project at the Adams Street Wastewater Treatment Plant to enhance safety, reliability, and efficiency. This project will upgrade aging systems, extend the lifespan of critical infrastructure, reduce maintenance needs, and improve service for the community.

Early April – Completion of siphon rehabilitation

Installation of a 24-inch gate valve
Activation of the Park Avenue Siphon Chamber

Road Closures: None
Parking Restrictions: None
Detours: Traffic will be reduced to a single lane in each direction during active construction.
Police Presence: Yes, provided by the Township of Weehawken
Community Impacts
Noise/Disruptions: Expect heavy equipment noise due to excavation and chamber work.
3/27/25 work continues to test the 12” siphon which will be used to bypass flow; active construction may resume at the Park Avenue location
